Epsom salt

Also known as magnesium sulfate. It is not actually a salt in the dietary sense but a compound of magnesium and sulfate. When dissolved in warm water, it is used in baths where magnesium may be absorbed through the skin in small amounts. This is why it is commonly associated with muscle relaxation and relief from body fatigue. It is especially helpful after physical strain because it supports the calming of tense muscles and may reduce the feeling of heaviness in the legs or back. It is also widely used for stress relief since magnesium plays a role in nervous system relaxation.
